Location - Inside a plain coloured room,
Costume - Plain with an African theme and African masks
Makeup - Bold lines across face that changes at different parts of the song for example a line across the eyes at one part changing to a line down the middle of the face.
Narration - Mostly there will be no narration but there will be a slight one between a boy fantasising about how amazing this girl is and boasting about her brilliance cut into the shots of dancing and artistic visuals
Colour gradient- Colourful and hyoer-realistic colouring to exhaggerate the joyous and upbeat mood of the song. Maybe with a slightly yellow colour gradient to add a feeling that the weather is sunny.
Lighting - High key lighting and normal sunlight - maybe in the evening when the sun turns everything golden.
Camera angles - keeping the angles close to the focus of the shot because each shot will have an artistic theme and it is important that the audience notices it.
Cutting rate - a disjointed cutting rate to go with the beat and create a sense of originality.
I like your idea of using a plain coloured room. This location could work very well if we need some miming shots from the main character. Also I think that using masks as props would be very eye catching and make the video memorable.
