Group: Ideas and Planning For Brighton

On the 18th September we will be going on a recce to Brighton. We have thought about some ideas and shots we would like to experiment with:

Location: We have always planned to film on top of a roof for our music video so in Brighton we want to find a rooftop that we can practice shots on. This will allow us to find out what shots look effective and professional and also we can find out whether Brighton could be our final location choice. Also while in Brighton we are going to go down the lanes and find some urban areas with graffiti. I think the colours will look bright and interesting on the film. We will also visit some shops, and the sea front.


Costume: For our costume we are going to where casual clothing with an urban theme. This is likely what sort of costume we will have for our final music video. Also this type of clothing will work well and fit in with our location.

Camera: We want to experiment with a lot of camera shots in Brighton: ECU, CU, MS, MLS, LS, ELS. Also we want to film handi cam shots and POV shots through out our day.

We hope to experiment with different depths of fields. This will be interesting to film on top of the rooftop and create some very interesting shots. Also we want to use the manual focus on the camera to film lights out of focus.


Shots for editing: We want to have a shot where a character is walking through a crowd slowly and then speed up the footage so that the rest of the public are walking quickly.
We want to film some action shots so that we can reverse some shots. Finally we want to include some slo-motion shots. Possibly of some birds flying.

Composition of shots: We are going to use the rule of thirds when shooting some of our shots. But in others we will break this rule to create some unique and artistic shots.
