Group: Development

On the 21st October we learnt how to create animations on After Effects, we would like to feature this throughout our video. We practiced this technique using some of our footage and this is how it came out:

These are instructions on how we animated our footage. We will recreate this in our video:

Import footage
Click-drag footage onto new comp button
Rename comp footage1 and duplicate comp (resulting comp automatically named footage2)
Enter footage1 comp timeline and translate 1 pixel left and up
Click-drag footage1 comp onto new comp icon (resulting comp automatically named footage3)
Rename footage3 comp to effector
Enter effector comp timeline
Click-drag footage2 comp into effector timeline below footage1 comp
Select footage1 and choose Keying/Difference Matte from the effect menu
Edit Difference Matte settings in the Effects Controls panel
Change View to                           Matte Only
Change Difference layer to       3.footage2
Change other settings to preference
Click-drag original footage onto new comp button and rename Render_comp
Click-drag effector comp onto Render_comp timeline. Place above original footage
Change effector comp layer mode to Add
